Purpose of the Manual
This manual describes the additional information for the SIPROTEC 5 device which is applied to the protection
of explosion-proof motors with type of protection increased safety e.
Target Audience
Protection system engineers, commissioning engineers, persons entrusted with the setting, testing and main-
tenance of automation, selective protection and control equipment, and operational crew in electrical installa-
tions and power plants.
Scope
This manual applies to the SIPROTEC 5 Generator Protection device 7UM85 with the protection of explosion-
proof motors.
