1) Loosen the two screws of the battery com-
partment cover l (see Fig. 16) on the
underside of the appliance using a Phillips
screwdriver, and remove it from the appli-
ance. Remove the battery compartment
cover l from the appliance.

2) Disconnect the plug connection of the
battery (see Fig. 17 and 18), and remove it
from the battery compartment.

3) Place the new battery in the battery compart-
ment with the labelled side facing upwards,
and connect it to the plug connection.
Note
► Make sure that the power cord and plug
connection are neatly stowed in the battery
compartment and are not crushed before you
replace the battery compartment cover
l.
4) Use a Phillips screwdriver to reattach the two
screws to the battery compartment cover
l.
5) Switch on the appliance, and check that it is
working properly.
Storage
ATTENTION!
► Never store the appliance when it is dis-
charged. Prolonged storage in a discharged
state can cause permanent damage to
the battery. If the appliance is stored for a
longer period of time, the charge level of the
battery must be checked regularly. The opti-
mum charge level is between 50% and 80%.
♦ Disconnect the appliance from the power
supply if it will not be used for a long period
of time.
♦ Store the appliance in a dust-free and dry
location out of direct sunlight.
