How to fix Simer Water Pump motor that will not run?

  If your Simer Water Pump motor won't run, start by checking if the disconnect switch is on. If not, turn it on. Next, inspect the fuse and circuit breaker; replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker if needed. If the starting switch is defective, disconnect the power and replace it. Refer to the wiring instructions to check and tighten any loose, disconnected, or incorrectly wired wires at the motor, after disconnecting power. Lastly, if the pressure switch contacts are dirty, disconnect the power and file them with an emery board or nail file.

  If your Simer Water Pump motor runs hot and the overload kicks off, it could be due to a few reasons. The motor might be wired incorrectly, so refer to the wiring instructions. The voltage might be too low, so check with the power company and consider installing heavier wiring if the wire size is too small. Lastly, the pump might be cycling too frequently; refer to the section on too frequent cycling.

Why does my Simer Water Pump deliver water but not to full capacity?

  If your Simer Water Pump isn't delivering water to its full capacity, it could be due to a few reasons. If you have a deep well, the water level might be lower than estimated; in this case, replace the nozzle and venturi with the correct combination for the well and lower the ejector to the correct level. If steel piping is used, it might be corroded or limed, causing excess friction; replace it with plastic pipe where possible, or with new steel pipe. Finally, the piping might be too small in size, so use larger piping.

  Air spurts from faucets connected to your Simer Water Pump can occur for several reasons. The pump might be picking up prime; when this happens, all air will eventually be ejected. There could be a leak in the suction side of the pump, causing the suction pipe to suck air; check the joints for leaks. The well itself might be gaseous; consult the factory about installing a sleeve in the well. Finally, intermittent over-pumping of the well (drawing water down below the foot valve) can cause this issue; lower the foot valve if possible, or restrict pump discharge.
