HYDRAULIC HOSE AND FITTING
TIGHTENING PROCEDURE
The hydraulic hose and fitting must be installed as per
the following requirements.
1. Before installation, check the seals on the hose and
fitting, and replace the seal or even the hose as-
sembly and fitting if the seal is found to be damaged
or oil spills out of the seal. The seal cannot be
reused if the fitting or hose end has been tightened
beyond specifications.
2. If the seal is to be replaced, lubricate the seal before
installation.
3. Position the hose and nut squarely on the fitting.
Then tighten the nut as required.
4. Tighten the nut or fitting to the torque specified in
the appropriate table.
5. After installation, perform all machine functions and
inspect the hose, fittings and related components to
confirm there are no leaks.
