Recommendation:
A resistance of 120 should be
added at the 2 end points of the net-
work. The Countis Ci incorporates
this resistor which can be congured
by switching all 4 micro switches to
position ON (see above).
NB:
We recommend the use of a LiYCY
shielded cable with twisted pair. For
low-interference environments or long
distance networks (>1500 meters) it is
highly recommended to use LiYCY or
The Countis Ci can be connected to
an RS485 communication network
with JBUS/MODBUS
®
protocol. For a
standard conguration, 31 Countis Ci
may be connected over a distance of
1500 metres (9600 bauds). Should
the distance or maximum number of
Countis Ci be exceeded it will be
necessary to connect a repeater or
arrester in order to increase the
devices capacity in terms of distance
and number.

CONNECTING THE RS485 LINK
LiYCY-CY shielded cable (shielded
pair plus neutral) consisting of a twis-
ted pair for the +/- and a twisted pair
for the OV, remembering to short cir-
cuit both wires.
