The LEVEL inenu contains parameters that let you adjust
the balance and speaker vohnnes of each speaker. The
settings available in this inenu are applied to all sound
fields.
1 Start playing a program source encoded with multi
channel surround sound.

Press LEVEL.
The button lights up and the first paraineter is
displayed.
Press the cursor buttons (< or >) to select the
parameter you want to adjust.
Turn the jog dial to select the setting you desire.
The setting is entered automatically.
Front balance (FRONT)
Initial setting : center
Lets you adjust tile balance between tile fl'ont left and
right speakers. The level carl even be adjusted during
5.1 CH input.
• Tile balance can be adjusted _+8dB in 1 dB steps.
• This settings can also be adjusted using tire supplied
remote. See "Adjusting the speaker wfluine" (page 22).
Rear L/R balance (REAR)
Initial setting : center
Lets you adjust tile balance between tile rear left and right
speakers. The level can even be adjusted during 5.1 CH
input.
• The balance can be adjusted +8 dB in 1 dB steps.
• This settings can also be adjusted using tile supplied
remote. See "Adjusting the speaker wfluine" (page 22).
Center level (CENTER)
Initial setting : 0 dB
Lets you adjust tire level of tire center speaker Tire level
can even be adjusted during 5.1 CH input.
• Tire level can be adjusted in 1 dB steps fi'om 10dB to
+10 dB.
Rear L/R level (REAR L/R)
hfitial setting : 0 dB
Lets you adjust level of the rear (left and right) speakers.
The level can even be adjusted during 5.1 CH input.
• The level can be adjusted in 1 dB steps from 10 dB to
+10 dB.
• This settings can also be adjusted directly using tile
supplied remote. See "Adjusting tire speaker wflume"
(page 22).
Rear center level (REAR CENTER)
hfitial setting : 0 dB
Lets you adjust tire level of the rear center speaker
• The level can be adjusted in 1 dB steps fFoIn 10 dB to
+10 dB.
Sub woofer level (SUB WOOFER)
Initial setting : 0 dB
Lets you adjust the level of the sub woofer Tire level can
even be adjusted during 5.1 CH input.
• The level can be adjusted in 1 dB steps froin 10 dB to
+10 dB.
LFE (Low Frequency Effect) mix level
Initial setting : 0 dB
This parameter lets you attenuate the level of tire LFE
(Low Frequency Effect) channel output fl'om tire sub
woofer without effbcting the level of tire bass fl'equencies
sent to the sub woofer fl'om the fl'ont, center or rear
channels via the Dolby Digital (AC 3) bass redirection
circuitry.
• The level can be adjusted in 1 dB steps froin 20 dB to
0 dB (line level). 0 dB outputs tire f\fll LFE signal at the
mix level determined by the recording engineer.
• Selecting OFF nmtes the sound of tile LFE channel fl'om
the sub woolen Howevel; the low fl'equency sounds of
the fi'ont, center, or rear speakers are output fl'om the
sub woofbr according to tire settings made for each
speaker in the speaker setup (page 18-20).
