What to do if my Sony VPL-FE40L has no picture?
    • B
      Brenda McbrideAug 10, 2025
If your Sony Projector is not displaying a picture, several factors could be the cause. Ensure all cables are properly connected as per page 17. If using a computer, and if it is compatible with DDC, turn the projector on by following this order: connect the projector to the computer, turn the projector on, then start the computer. Also, verify that the correct input source is selected using the INPUT key, as described on page 20. Check if the picture is muted and, if so, press the PIC MUTING key. Lastly, if connected to a computer, confirm that the computer signal is set to output only to an external monitor, following the instructions on page 17.

Ensure that the lamp cover is securely closed, as explained on page 41. Also, verify that the air filter cover is properly attached, following the instructions on page 42.

Why is the picture on my Sony VPL-FE40L noisy?
    • M
      michael77Aug 31, 2025
If the picture on your Sony Projector appears noisy, it could be due to a combination of the number of dots input from the computer and the number of pixels on the LCD panel. Try changing the desktop pattern on the connected computer. If you are inputting a video signal with jitter, use a TBC (Time Base Corrector) to reduce video jitter.
