2. Torque limiter function
The torque limiter is a safety device installed to prevent the weight being lifted from falling, the boom
breaking or the machine tipping over due to overload. Before operating the crane, check the operation of
the torque limiter frequently to confirm that there is no abnormality.
1. Working principle of torque limiter
The torque limiter obtains the current boom parameter information through the length and angle
sensor, and obtains the outrigger extension parameter information through the outrigger foot sensor, the
wire rope magnification number, and the actual lifting load information. The torque limiter compares the
current "rated total load" with the "actual load" (lifted load), and the result is that the actual load/rated
total load =90-100%, a yellow sound and light alarm will be issued. If the calculation result shows that the
actual load/rated total load=100% or more, a red sound and light alarm will be issued to automatically stop
the lifting operation.
2. Display of error message of torque limiter
When there is an error in the length and angle sensor or the pressure sensor, or when the circuit is
open or the connector is disconnected, the torque limiter will perform self-diagnosis on the torque limiter
display unit. The result is displayed on the "rated total load display" of the torque limiter display unit
through the error code to notify the operator of the error. When the error code is displayed, immediately
stop using the crane.
