Engine Does Not Start
Engine Starts Hard
Engine Starts But Runs Irregularly
or Misses
1. Fuel tank is empty.
2. Fuel petcock is turned off.
3. Fuel petcock is clogged.
4. Fouled spark plug
5. Spark plug cable connectors loose or in bad
condition and are shorting.
6. Engine ooded with fuel from over-enrichening
(excessive use of the choke).
7. Throttle held too open when using the choke.
3. Carburetor is not adjusted correctly.
4. Fuel tank vent is plugged or the fuel line to the
carburetor is closed off, restricting fuel ow.
5. Carburetor ooded by excessive “pumping” of
hand throttle.
6. Water or dirt in the fuel system and/or carburetor
