12 Host-controlled mode with a PC

To work in Host-controlled mode, the X-NUCLEO-LPM01A expansion board needs to be

connected to a PC via a USB cable (common USB Type-A to USB micro-B cable).

The X-NUCLEO-LPM01A supports two controlled modes:

• Host-controlled mode with command lines sent by a COM port terminal:

– refer to the X-NUCLEO-LPM01A PowerShield firmware user manual [1].

• Host-controlled mode with the STM32CubeMonitor-Power graphic user interface:

– refer to the STM32CubeMonitor-Power user manual [2].

Both modes require installation of the USB VCP (Virtual COM port) driver ‘STM32 Virtual

COM Port Driver’ on the PC. Please refer to the X-NUCLEO-LPM01A PowerShield firmware

user manual
