GOING DOWNHILL 650/800/850 GUEPARD

Going downhill
When going downhill, shift as far back as possible,
to the upper side of the slope. Shift to the back of the
saddle so that your arms are straight. Prior to going
downhill, shift the transmission to t he «4WD-LOCK»
mode. This mode combined with the engine braking
provides for the maximum braking system efficiency.
Be cautious while going down slippery or loose
grounds. The braking ability and tractive force are
significantly reduced on such soft surfaces. Incorrect
braking technique will cause the loss of wheels
adhesion. In the «4WD» or «4WD-LOCK» mode, all
wheels (front and rear) are powered. This means
that engagement of the front or rear brake
mechanisms will cause all wheels braking.
When engaging the braking system while going
downhill, high braking force will occur on the
wheels positioned lower on the slope. Avoid
braking sharply on a slope. Otherwise, the wheels
positioned higher on the slope may get off the
ground.
Carefully engage both brakes. When possible,
go downhill parallel to the slope gradient line.
Avoid going downhill at an angle to the slope, as
in this case the vehicle category T3b may tilt
and capsize. Select the trajectory carefully and go
down at such speed that provides time for you to
react to sudden obstacles.
