FLIGHT MANUAL TSA-M, VARIANT S6
Doc.-No.: P400-006.000 E Page: 7-36 Revision: 10
Date of Issue: 07. October 2008 Date of Rev.: 06.07.2020
If the optional left fuel-tank is installed, then fuel can be moved from the left
auxiliary-tank to the right main-tank by operating the fuel-transfer-pump.
Operation of the fuel-transfer-pump is monitored by the amount of fuel in the
right tank (automatic fuel-transfer):
• If the amount of fuel in the right tank is more than 2/3 - 3/4 of its maximum
capacity and is above the low-fuel-warning, then no fuel is transferred. This
prevents the right tank from becoming overfilled.
• If the amount of fuel in the right is below 2/3 - 3/4 of its maximum capacity
or below the level, the fuel-sensor could sense, the transfer of fuel begins
automatically if this is activated.
The transfer of fuel can be interrupted at any time by hand (independent of the
amount of fuel in the right tank) by operating the fuel-transfer-pump-switch.
7.12.4 Measurement of the Amount of Fuel
The amount of fuel in each tank is measured with capacitive sensors. This data
is then displayed on one fuel-gauge for each installed tank, mounted on the
instrument-panel.
An additional optical sensor is mounted in the feeder-compartment. It signals,
that less than approx. 1.3-1.9 US gal / 5-7 l of fuel remain in the feeder
compartment.
Note: The fuel sensor is calibrated to RON 95. All other fuel types
and mixtures of fuel will cause a lower fuel level indication in
the tanks than actual. The real fuel level has to be
determined visually, optional by using a dip stick (see ch.
7.12.4.1), and compared to the indicated fuel level on the
display in the cockpit. The deviation has to be considered for
flight planning.
7.12.4.1 Determination of the fuel level by dip stick
The determination of fuel level by the dipstick is an additional procedure to
validate the accuracy of the fuel-gauges, affected by the various fuel grades,
compare to the real amount in the fuel tank.
Note: The indicated wetness is highly depending from the leveling
of the aircraft.
The determined amount is a rough calculation basis for flight planning.
