Symbols on the choke lever
Operating position F- in this position the
warm engine is started or the engine is
running.
Start } – in this position the cold engine
is started
Starting the engine
N Press the manual fuel pump
bulb (4) at least five times - even
when bulb is filled with fuel
The choke lever is in the operating
positionF.
N If the engine is cold: Press in the
choke lever (5) at the edge (arrows)
and turn to the start position }.
Starting
N Place the machine on the ground in
a secure position: It must rest on the
hip plate on the engine and the
deflector for the cutting attachment.
The cutting attachment must not
touch the ground or any other
objects
N Adopt a stable position - either
standing, bending over or kneeling
N Press the machine firmly against the
ground with the left hand – do not
touch the throttle trigger or throttle
trigger lockout while doing so
NOTICE
Do not stand or kneel on the shaft!
N Grab the starter grip with your right
hand
N Pull the starter grip smoothly
NOTICE
Do not pull out the starter rope
completely – risk of breakage!
N Do not let the starter grip snap back
– guide it slowly back into the
housing so that the starter rope can
rewind properly
N Repeat this procedure until the
engine starts
N If the engine still does not start: Turn
the choke lever to the start
position} and restart the tool.
