Chapter 2: Installation
SATA 3.0 Ports
Six SATA 3.0 connectors, supported by the Intel C422 PCH chipset, are located on the
X11SRA/-F/-RF motherboard. These SATA ports support RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10. SATA ports
provide serial-link signal connections, which are faster than the connections of Parallel ATA.
Refer to the table below for pin denitions.

M.2 Connection
The X11SRA/-F/-RF board contains two M.2 slots. M.2 was formerly known as Next Generation
Form Factor (NGFF) and serves to replace mini PCI-E. M.2 allows for a greater variety of
card sizes, increased functionality, and spatial efciency. The M.2 slots on the motherboard
support PCI-E 3.0 x4 (32 Gb/s) card in 2280 and 22110 form factors.
