4.6. Standard Operation
4.6.1. Ignition of the Exposure
Lamp
Warning!
UV-lamp ignition needs very high volt-
age pulses: The lamps also operate at
dangerous voltages. The intense light
produced by such lamps must be en
-
closed. Ignite and run the UV-lamp only
if the lamp house and ignition unit are
completely closed and secured against
unintended opening.
Commence ignition and activate POWER by press-
ing the key ON. The software version of the unit is
shown in the display (e.g. SUSS 2.00).
Finally the alphanumeric display shows the mes-
sage:
READY
The LEDs of the annunciator group
LAMP TYPE 350W is ON.
Actuate the key CP. The alphanumeric display now
shows the message:
WAIT
then
=>>START
Actuate the key START. The display shows:
IGNITION
then
LAMP COLD
and in the annunciator group FAILURE the LED of
LAMP LIFE/POWER is flashing until the lamp reach
-
es operating conditions - depending on the type of
lamp.
Upon completion of the warm-up sequence the al-
phanumeric display will indicate the real value of
LIGHT INTENSITY (in CH1/CH2 mode and if the
shutter is open) and POWER of the exposure lamp
(in CP mode).
