Vacuum Breaker:
When the machine is heang from cool and begins to build pressure from zero, it is normal for the vacu-
um breaker to spuer unl the steam tank is near full pressure.
If spuering occurs when the steam tank is near or at the set pressure, replace the vacuum breaker.
Sight Glass:
Steam or water leaking from around the glass tube of the sight glass indicates that the internal O-rings
are worn. Purchase a rebuild kit and replace the O-rings.
General Issues
Beeping Machine:
Low level alarm probe is not grounding out. Power cycle the machine. Inspect and clean the probe. En-
sure the tank is lling. Check for adequate water ow to the machine.
Portalter Stopping Point is O
Under normal circumstances, when the portalters are fully engaged the handle will face the barista. If
the portalter stopping point is occuring before this point (handle points to the le), check that the
standard size 8.5 mm gaskets are being used and that the gasket is seated fully around the diuser block.
If the portalter stopping point is occurring aer the normal point (handle points to the right), inspect
the earsof the portalter for wear. If brass is showing on the ears, try using the taller 9mm gaskets.
Alternately, you can replace the portalter head.
Pump/Motor is Making an Unusual Sound:
Make sure the water to the pump is fully on. Check the lters for clogs, change if needed. Check the wa-
ter lines for kinks.
Pump may be worn and in need of replacement.
High-Pitched Whistling Noise When Groups are Acve:
Water is leaking out from the brew system. Check for VMUF0# error. Remove the right side panel and
inspect the expansion valve. Ensure the expansion valve is not dripping while a shot is brewing or blind
lter is engaged at full pump pressure. Adjust the expansion valve if needed.
Check that water is not leaking from the brew valve discharge while the machine is idle or brewing. Un-
der normal circumstances, a small amount of water will be discharged only when the group goes from ON
to OFF.
