UCAN Config for Windows
It is possible to use more than one USB-CANmodul with one
application, or from several applications from one host. Each module
has a device number that the software in the host-PC determines in
order to connect to the correct module.
With
UCAN Config
, it is possible to change the device number of the
current module. All USB-CANmoduls are programmed with the
device number 0; each USB-CANmodul also has a serial number.
When starting the
UCAN Config
utility, the connected devices are
listed with the serial number and device number.
Identification:
Module number: Number of the USB-CANmodul. This is the
number Windows assigns and uses to configure the module.
Serial number: Barcode number (sticker) on the module.
Device number: Number of the USB-CANmodul identifies the
modules for application purposes. This number is stored in the
EEPROM of the device and is transferred before the initialization
with UcanInitHardware ().
Start the utility program using the Windows Start button and browse
to Programs \ USB-CANmodul Utilities \ UCAN Config. Figure 8
shows the screen capture of the
UCAN Config
utility. It is possible
to change the device numbers (up to 10) of the connected
USB-CANmoduls. All connected devices are shown in the module
list. The first column shows the module number, the second column
the serial number of the modules.
