If your Taylor Freezer's beater motor runs but the compressor doesn't when the power switch is in the AUTO position, there might be several reasons. First, the internal overload in the compressor may have tripped; allow it to cool and check for high head pressure, refrigerant overcharge, stuck pistons, or tight bearings. Alternatively, the compressor itself could be burned out, requiring replacement. Other potential causes include improper compressor wiring (check against the diagram), low line voltage (check at the terminal block and find the source of the voltage drop), or a single-phasing compressor contactor (which would need replacement).
