Flame Sense Current Test (high voltage international models only)
Figure 50
Flame Sense is the current that passes through the
flame from the electrode to ground. The flames
coming off of the burner complete the circuit from
electrode to ground. If the circuit is not completed
the IDC assumes there is no flame. The minimum
flame sense current needed is .7μA. The following
step will cover the test procedure.
1. To measure the flame sense current connect a
multimeter (with Micro Amp capability) to the
FC+ (Positive meter probe) and FC (Negative
meter probe).
2. The burner must be lit to measure current. This
is accomplished by manually turning the burner
on from the service menu.
Note: The polarity of the meter probes matters in
this test. If the probes are reversed the current
reading will be incorrect.
