pull
it ou t of the circ u it boar d wit h α p ai r
of
pliers . Be careful not to d amage t he wiring on t he boar d
with too m uch h eat . Ream out the h ole in t h e circuit b oar d
with α 0 .031-inc h d rill . Remove t h e ferrule from t he new
interconnecting p in and p ress t h e new p in into t he h ole in
t h e circuit boar d .

boa r d . If t he ol d pi n was bent at an angle to mate wit h α

ΝΟΤΕ
T he spring tension of the pin socketsensures α good
connection between the circuit board and the pin .
This spring tension can be destroyed byu sing the pin
sockets as α connecting point for spring-loaded probe
tips, alligator clips, etc .

connectors are remove d an d installe d as α m u lti-pin
connector .
To
provide correct orientatio n of t h is multi- p i n
connector w hen it is re p lace d ,
an
arrow is stam ped on t h e
circuit b oard and α matc h ing arrow is mol de d into t h e
p lastic h ousing of t h e m u lti-pin co n nector . Be sure t h ese
arrows are aligned as t he multi-pin connector is replaced . If
t h e in d ivi du al en d -lea d p in connectors are remove d from
t h e plastic h
ol
d er, note t h e
color of
t h e in d ivi du al wires for
replacement
.

tu b e, p roceed as follows :
U se care when handling α C
RT . P rotective clothing
and
safety glasses should be worn . Avoid striking it
on
any object which might cause it to
crack o r
implode . When storing α CRT, place it in
α protective
carton or set it face down in α protected
location
on
α
smooth surface with α soft mat
under t he faceplate to
protect it from scratches .

teners near t he top center of t

instrume n t . Disconnect
t h e ano d e p
lug from
t
he j
ac
k
on
t h e h ig h -voltage com-
partment . Ground t h is lead to t h
e c
h assis to
d issi p ate any
store d c h arge .
4 . Disconnect the d eflection- p late
con n ectors . Be care-
ful not to b en d t

5 . Remove t he CR T b ase sock et from t h e rear of t h e
CRT .
