Probe Guard
A guard around t h e probe body provides a finger barrier for
protection from electri c shock.

WARNING. To avoid electric shock when using the probe, keep fingers
behind the guard on the probe body.
To avoid electric shock when using the probe, do not touch metallic
portions of the probe head while connected to a vol tage source.
Ground Leads
Always use a ground lead when you probe a circuit to minimize
noise pickup and signal aberrations. Connecting the ground lead to a
point near t he signa l source usuall y provide s the best re sults.
Long ground le ads can cause false ringi ng and aberrations in the
acquired waveform that are not in the actua l signa l. To see the best
signal fidelity, use the shortest possible ground lead.
