Use the answering system menu of a cordless handset to turn on or off the
answering system, message alert tone or call screening, set up the announcement
message, or change the number of rings, remote access code or message
recording time.
You may also turn on or off the answering system at the telephone base.
ANSwER ON/Off
The answering system must be turned on to answer and record messages.
When the answering system is turned on, the icon displays on the handset.
To turn on or off with the telephone base:
Press to turn the built-in answering system on or off when the phone is not in
use.
To turn on or off with a handset:
Press MENU when the phone is not in use.
Press or to scroll to ANS. MACHINE, and then press SELECT.
Press or to scroll to TAM ON/OFF, and then press SELECT.
Press or to choose ON or OFF, and then press SELECT to conrm your
selection. You hear a conrmation tone.
MESSAGE PLAYBACk
If you have new messages, the telephone plays only the new messages (oldest rst).
If there are no new messages, the telephone plays back all messages (oldest rst).

ANSwERING MACHINE
Note: Your answering machine will answer calls after 9 rings, even when it is
turned off. This allows the remote access feature to work.
