The HPC cable works as an interface between the vehicle battery (car or
truck) and the rev counter.

The HPC differs from a normal cable in that it is a multiway cable that allows
you to indicate, via a specific selector, the type of vehicle that you will be
working on.
Vehicle selection allows the rev counter to read engine RPMs more
accurately.
This operation is essential when using the battery ripple method to detect
engine RPMs.
