GENERAL
The
KLN
94
GPS
(Global
Positioning
System)
is
a
three-
dimensional
precision
navigation
system
based
on
24
earth
orbiting
satellites.
Receiver
Autonomous
Integrity
Monitoring
(RAIM)
is
a
function
that
every
IFR-certified
GPS
receiver
must
continuously
perform
to
assure
position
accuracy.
RAIM
is
available
when
5
or
more
of
these
satellites
are
in
view,
or
4
satellites
are
in
view
and
a
barometrically
corrected
altitude
input
from
the
airplane's
altimeter
is
made.
Annunciation
is
provided
if
there
are
not
enough
satellites
in
view
to
assure
position
integrity.
Operational
guidance
for
the
KLN
94
GPS
Navigation
System
is
provided
with
the
Bendix/King
KLN
94
Pilot's
Guide
(supplied
with
the
airplane).
This
Pilot's
Guide
should
be
thoroughly
studied
and
IVFR
operations
conducted
so
that
you
are
totally
familiar
with
GPS
Inavigation
before
actually
using
this
equipment
in
IFR
conditions.
