1.2.4 Vessel Adapter Box
The VAB is specific to the vessel it is attached to and enables you to
easily switch vessels according to the requirements of the process. All
the connectors are on the bottom of the box.
Each VAB has a power switch on the side and must be powered on
prior to use.
The lower part of the panel (Figure 1.7) houses connectors for the
sensors. These are configured to each user’s specifications and can
be any combination of electrochemical and TruFlow sensors. Up to
three (3) each of pH and DO sensors are allowed, and up to two (2)
temperature sensors.
Figure 1.8. Generic configuration of the VAB.
The generic configuration is shown in Figure 1.8:
• Ports 1 and 2—For the heater blanket, if used.
• Ports 3 and 12—Spares to be used as needed.
• Ports 4, 5, 10, and 11—For load cells.
• Port 6—For a pressure sensor.
• Ports 7 and 9—Connect to the utility tower. Port 7 is the power
inlet; port 9 provides control and communications.
• Port 8—For an agitator motor connection.
