Audioproblems
Problem:WaveorMIDIsounddoesnotplaycorrectly.
Solution:Makesurethatthebuilt-inaudiodeviceisconguredcorrectly.
1.OpenControlPanelandclickHardwareandSound.
2.UnderDevicesandPrinters.clickDeviceManager.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministrator
passwordorconrmation,typethepasswordorprovideconrmation.
3.Double-clickSound,videoandgamecontrollers.
4.MakesurethattheRealtekHDAudiodriverisenabledandconguredcorrectly.
Problem:Recordingsmadeusingthemicrophoneinputarenotloudenough.
Solution:MakesurethattheMicrophoneBoostfunctionisturnedonandsetbydoingthefollowing:
1.OpenControlPanelandclickHardwareandSound.
2.ClickSound.
3.ClicktheRecordingtabintheSoundwindow.
4.SelectMicrophone,andclickthePropertiesbutton.
5.ClicktheLevelstab,andmovetheMicrophoneBoostsliderupwards.
6.ClickOK.

Problem:Avolumeorbalanceslidercannotbemoved.
Solution:Theslidermightbegrayedout.Thismeansthatitspositionisxedbythehardwareand
cannotbechanged.
Problem:Thevolumeslidersdonotstayinplacewhensomeaudioprogramsareused.
Solution:Itisnormalforthesliderstochangepositionwhencertainsoundprogramsareused.The
programsareawareofthesettingsintheVolumeMixerwindowandareallowedtochangethesettings
themselves.AnexampleistheWindowsMediaPlayer.Usuallytheprogramhasslidersavailableto
controlthesoundfromwithintheprogram.
Problem:Thebalanceslidercannotcompletelymuteonechannel.
Solution:Thecontrolisdesignedtocompensateforminordifferencesinbalanceanddoesnot
completelymuteeitherchannel.
Problem:ThereisnovolumecontrolforMIDIsoundintheVolumeMixerwindow.
Solution:Usethehardwarevolumecontrol.Thisisbecausethebuilt-insynthesizersoftwaredoes
notsupportthecontrol.
Problem:ThesoundcannotbeturnedoffcompletelyevenifyousettheMastervolumecontrolat
minimum.
Solution:YoustillcanhearsomesoundeventhoughyouhavesettheMastervolumecontrolatminimum.
Toturnoffthesoundcompletely,gototheMastervolumecontrolandselectMutespeakers.
