1.2 Storage
Your device and its accessories are packaged and shipped in packaging designed to protect
them against electric shock and moisture. When you unpack the appliance, check that it is
complete and keep the packaging away from children. To transport the device or return it to us
under warranty, return it to its original packaging with its accessories. Failure to follow these
instructions will void the warranty.
1.3 Installation of the device
We recommend that you have your device installed by a professional. If you still want to
install it yourself, proceed as follows:
• Have the user guide for your television and antenna.
• Check that the HDMI or SCART cable and the external components are in good condition
and that the HDMI or SCART connections are properly shielded.
This guide explains in detail how to install and use your terminal. The symbols used are as
follows:

NOTE: The batteries must not be recharged, dismantled, short-circuited or mixed with
batteries of another type.
1.5 Using a USB device
• It is recommended to use a USB 2.0 device. If your device is not compatible with USB 2.0
specifications. Correct operation of playback and recording is not guaranteed. • To ensure
efficient operation of your USB device, please format your device to FAT32 using the terminal.
Other file systems are not supported by the terminal. • If you are using an external hard disk
(HDD), the power supply required for your hard disk to function properly may not be supported
by the terminal (5 V / 500 mA). In this case, you must connect a suitable power supply to your
terminal.
• THOMSON cannot guarantee proper operation with all types of USB storage device.
• You are advised not to save important information on the USB storage device used with the
terminal. We recommend that you always back up data to another storage device. THOMSON
cannot be held responsible for any loss of information or the consequences of such loss of
information.
