PK-232 – MBX OPERATING MANUAL COMMAND SUMMARY
4/91 A-15 140
ALTModem "n" Default: 0
Mode: Packet Host: Am
Parameters: "n" - A numeric value of 0 or 1 selecting either the default (0) PK-232 45-
300/1200 baud modem, or the optional (1) 2400 bps DPSK modem.
n is a numeric value 0 or 1, selecting the standard PK-232 modem (ALTMODEM 0, default) or the
optional 2400 bps modem (ALTMODEM 1). Only the Packet mode uses ALTMODEM 1. In all other
modes, one of the internal FSK/CW modems is selected.
ALTMODEM is used only when the optional internal 2400 bps DPSK modem has been factory in-
stalled. Remember to set HBAUD to 2400 when using this modem.
AMtor Immediate Command
Mode: Command Host: AM
AMTOR is an immediate command that switches your PK-232 into the AMTOR mode. Your PK-232
is automatically placed in ARQ Standby condition.
Your station is then available for automatic access by and response to any AMTOR station that
sends your SELCALL. The PK-232 can communicate using either the CCIR 476 (4-character SEL-
CALL) or the CCIR 625 (7-character SELCALL) protocol. Your monitor will also display any inbound
FEC (Mode B) transmissions.
See the MYSELCAL and MYIDENT commands to enter your 4 and 7 character SELCALLs.
ARq aaaa[aaa] Immediate Command
Mode: AMTOR Host: AC
Parameters: aaaa[aaa] - The distant station's 4-character or 7-character SELCALL code.
ARQ is an immediate command that starts an AMTOR Mode A (ARQ) SELCALL (SELective CALL) to
a distant station.
To begin the Mode A (ARQ) selective call type "ARQ" followed by the other station's SELCALL:
Example: ARQ NNML (4-character SELCALL)
or ARQ VTMFFFF (7-character SELCALL)
As soon as a <CR> is typed, your PK-232 will begin keying your transmitter in the three-character
AMTOR ARQ burst sequence. If the distant station receives and decodes your selective call suc-
cessfully, the two AMTOR systems synchronize and begin the Mode A (ARQ) AMTOR "handshak-
ing" process.
See the MYSELCAL and MYIDENT commands to enter your 4- and 7- character SELCALLs. Other
AMTOR commands are ACHG, ACRRTTY, ADELAY, ALFRTTY, ARQTMO, EAS, HEREIS and RECEIVE.
