5.2 DIAGNOSIS (450F SMR/SMM - ALL 530F)

Partly interrupted fuel supply or
dirty fuel
Clogged air filter
Exhaust system not sealed,
deformed or exhaust fibreglass in silencer
Insufficient valve clearance
Insufficient manual decompressor play (ALL 530)
Faulty start system
Faulty start control unit
No fuel in the engine
Damaged spark plug
Faulty start system
Faulty start control unit
Refuel (37).
Clean and check the fuel circuit and the carburettor (A).
Replace the spark plug.
Check the start system (A).
Replace the start control unit (A).
Insufficient fluid in the cooling
system
Insufficient ventilation
Air in cooling circuit
The radiator fins are very dirty
Formation of foam in the cooling
system
Check and top-up the coolant level.
Check the seal of the cooling system (70).
Ride for a while on a flat road at moderate speed without
forcing the engine (you can assemble an optional electric fan).
Bleed the cooling system (71).
Clean the radiator fins with water (not under pressure).
Replace the coolant using a good brand of anti-freeze
(71) (A).
Burnt out accessory fuse Check the 10A accessory fuse and replace it (66).
Clean and check the fuel circuit and the carburettor (A)
Clean or replace the air filter (72).
Check the faulty parts on the exhaust system,
replace the fibreglass in the exhaust silencer (71) (A).
Adjust valve clearance (A).
Adjust the manual decompression control (73)
Check the start system (A).
Replace the start control unit (A).
