UsingtheSafety-Interlock
System
CAUTION
Ifthesafety-interlockswitchesaredisconnectedor
damaged,themachinecouldoperateunexpectedly,
causingpersonalinjury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlockswitches
dailyandreplaceanydamagedswitchesbefore
operatingthemachine.
UnderstandingtheSafety-Interlock
System
Thesafety-interlocksystempreventstheenginefromstarting
unless:
•Youaresittingontheseatortheparkingbrakeisengaged.
•Thepowertakeoff(PTO)isdisengaged.
•Themotion-controlleversareintheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position.
•Theenginetemperatureisbelowthemaximumoperating
temperature.
Thesafety-interlocksystemalsostopstheenginewhenyou
movethetractioncontrolsfromtheNEUTRAL-LOCKposition
withtheparkingbrakeengaged.Ifyourisefromtheseat
whenthePTOisengaged,thereisa1-seconddelayandthen
theenginestops.
TestingtheSafety-InterlockSystem
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Testthesafety-interlocksystembeforeyouusethemachine
eachtime.Ifthesafetysystemdoesnotoperateasdescribed
below,haveanAuthorizedServiceDealerrepairthesafety
systemimmediately.
1.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,andmovethe
PTOtotheONposition.Trystartingtheengine;the
engineshouldnotcrank.
