reorexplosionfromfuelcanburnyouand
othersandcancausepropertydamage.
Useafunnelandllthefueltankoutdoors,
inanopenarea,whentheengineisoffand
iscold.Wipeupanyfuelthatspills.
Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.Add
fueltothefueltankuntilthelevelis1/4to
1/2in.(6to13mm)belowthebottomof
thellerneck.Thisemptyspaceinthetank
allowsthefueltoexpand.
Neversmokewhenhandlingfuel,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwherefuel
fumesmaybeignitedbyaspark.
Storefuelinaclean,safety-approved
containerandkeepthecapinplace.

Beforestorage
Drainandcleanthefueltankevery800hours.Also,
drainandcleanthetankiffuelsystembecomes
contaminatedorifthemachinewillbestoredforan
extendedperiodoftime.Usecleanfueltoushout
thetank.

ServiceInterval:Every400hours
Yearly
Checkthefuellinesandconnectionsevery400hours
oryearly,whichevercomesrst.Inspectthemfor
deterioration,damage,orlooseconnections.
WaterSeparator
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Drainwaterorothercontaminantsfromthewater
separator(Figure38)daily.
1.Placeacleancontainerunderthefuellter.
2.Loosenthedrainplugonthebottomofthelter
canister(Figure38).Tightentheplugafterdraining.

operation.
3.Cleantheareawheretheltercanistermounts.
4.Removetheltercanisterandcleanthemounting

5.Lubricatethegasketontheltercanisterwithclean

contactsthemountingsurface;thenrotateitan
additional1/2turn.

Replacethefuelpre-lter(Figure39),locatedbetween
fuelthetankandfuelpump,afterevery400operating
hoursoryearly,whicheveroccursrst.
1.Clampbothfuellinesthatconnecttothefuellter
sothatfuelcannotdrainwhenthelinesareremoved.
2.Loosenthehoseclampsatbothendsofthelter
andpullthefuellinesoffofthelter.
