•Neveroperatethelawnmowerunlessyouinstall
acoverplate,amulchplate,oragrasschuteand
catcher.
•Makesurethegrassdeectorisinthedown
position.
1.Removethelocknut,bolt,springandspacerholding
thedeectortothepivotbrackets(Figure36).Remove
thedamagedorworngrassdeector.
2.Placethespacerandspringontograssdeector.Place
theLendofspringbehinddeckedge.
Note:MakesuretheLendofthespringisinstalled
behindthedeckedgebeforeinstallingtheboltas
showninFigure36.
3.Installtheboltandnut.PlacetheJhookendofthe
springaroundthegrassdeector(Figure36).
Important:Thegrassdeectormustbeableto
lowerdownintoposition.Liftthedeectorupto
testthatitlowersintothefulldownposition.
