Understandingthe
Safety-InterlockSystem
Thesafety-interlocksystemisdesignedtopreventthe
enginefromstartingunless:
•Theparkingbrakeisengaged.
•Thepowertakeoff(PTO)isdisengaged.
•Themotion-controlleversareintheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position
Thesafety-interlocksystemalsoisdesignedtoshut
offtheenginewhenthetractioncontrolsaremoved
fromtheLOCKEDpositionwiththeparkingbrake
engagedorifyourisefromtheseatwhenthePTO
isengaged.
Thehourmeterhassymbolstonotifytheuserwhen
theinterlockcomponentisinthecorrectposition.
Whenthecomponentisinthecorrectposition,a
trianglelightsupinthecorrespondingsquare.

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Ifthesafetysystemdoesnotoperateasdescribed
below,haveanAuthorizedServiceDealerrepairthe
safetysystemimmediately.
1.Sittingontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake
andmovethePTOtoON.Trystartingthe
engine;theengineshouldnotcrank.
2.Sittingontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake
andmovethePTOtoOFF.Moveeither
motion-controllever(outoftheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position).Trystartingtheengine;theengine
shouldnotcrank.Repeatforothercontrollever.
3.Sittingontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTOswitchtoOFFandmovethe
motion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position.Nowstarttheengine.Whiletheengine
isrunning,releasetheparkingbrake,engage
thePTOandriseslightlyfromtheseat;the
engineshouldstop.
4.Sittingontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTOswitchtoOFFandmovethe
motion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position.Nowstarttheengine.Whiletheengine
isrunning,centereithermotioncontroland
move(forwardorreverse);theengineshould
stop.Repeatfortheothermotioncontrol.
5.Sittingontheseat,disengagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTOswitchtoOFFandmovethe
motion-controlleverstoNEUTRAL-LOCKposition.
Trystartingtheengine;theengineshouldnot
crank.
DrivingForwardor
Backward
Thethrottlecontrolregulatestheenginespeedas
measuredinrpm(revolutionsperminute).Place
thethrottlecontrolintheFASTpositionforbest
performance.AlwaysoperateintheFULLTHROTTLE
positionwhenmowing.
CAUTION
Machinecanspinveryrapidly.Operatormay
losecontrolofmachineandcausepersonal
injuryordamagetomachine.
