Important:Thefastenersforthefrontengine
panelaredesignedtoremainonthemachineafter
coverremoval.Loosenallofthefastenersafew
turnssothatthepanelisloosebutstillattached,
thengobackandloosenthemuntilthepanel
comesfree.Thispreventsyoufromaccidentally
strippingtheboltsfreeoftheretainers.
Squealingwhenthebeltisrotating,bladesslipping
whencuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarks,
andcracksaresignsofawornPTObelt.Replacethe
mowerbeltifanyoftheseconditionsareevident.
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-control
leverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,andsetthe
parkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Tilttheseatforward,loosenthebolts,and
removethefrontenginepanel(Figure62).
