Note:Donotthreadthespacernutalloftheway
ontotheendoftheaxle.Leaveapproximately1/8inch
(3mm)fromtheoutersurfaceofthespacernuttothe
endoftheaxleinsidethenut.
9.Inserttheassemblednutandaxleintothewheelonthe
sideofthewheelwiththenewsealandbearing.
10.Withtheopenendofthewheelfacingup,llthearea
insidethewheelaroundtheaxlefullofgeneral-purpose
grease.
11.Insertthesecondbearingandnewsealintothewheel.
12.Applyathread-lockingadhesivetothesecondspacer
nutandthreadontotheaxlewiththewrenchats
facingoutward.
13.Torquethenutto8-9N-m(75-80in-lb),loosenit,and
thentorquethenutagainto2-3N-m(20-25in-lb).
Note:Ensurethattheaxledoesnotextendbeyond
eithernut.
InstallingtheCasterWheels
1.Installthesealguardsoverthewheelhub
2.Insertwheelintocasterfork.
3.Installcasterboltandtightennutfully.
4.Lowerthefrontofthemachineusingoneofthe
followingmethods:
•Jackandjackstands
A.Raisefrontofthemachineusingajack.
B.Removethejackstands.
C.Lowerthemachine.
D.Removethechocksthereartires.
•ZStand
A.Removethechocksthereartires.
B.LowerthemachinefromtheZStand;
DrivingofftheZStand(page30).

dutyaircleaner).
Note:Checktheltersmorefrequentlyiftheoperating
conditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.
RemovingtheFilters
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrolleversto
theneutrallockedposition,andsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Releasethelatchesontheaircleaner,andpulltheair
cleanercoverofftheaircleanerbody(Figure49).
