Checkthebeltsforsquealingwhenthebeltisrotating,blades
slippingwhencuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarksand
cracksaresignsofawornmowerbelt.Replacethemower
beltifanyoftheseconditionsareevident.
ReplacingtheMowerBelt
Important:Thefastenersonthecoversofthismachine
aredesignedtoremainonthecoverafterremoval.
Loosenallofthefastenersoneachcoverafewturnsso
thatthecoverisloosebutstillattached,thengoback
andloosenthemuntilthecovercomesfree.Thiswill
preventyoufromaccidentallystrippingtheboltsfree
oftheretainers.
Squealingwhenthebeltisrotating,bladesslippingwhen
cuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarksandcracksare
signsofawornmowerbelt.Replacethemowerbeltifanyof
theseconditionsareevident.
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrolleversto
theneutrallockedpositionandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Lowerthemowertothe76mm(3inches)heightofcut.
4.Loosentheboltsthatsecurethebeltcoverstothe
mowerdeck,andremovethecovers(Figure72).
