switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
Checkingthe
Operator-Presence-Control(OPC)
InterlockSwitch
1.Pushthekickstanddownwithyourfootandpull
uponthehandlesupportuntilthekickstandhas
rotatedforward,overcenter.
2.Starttheengine.
3.WiththeOPCreleased,attempttoengage
thetractionlever(Figure29).Thetraction
levershouldnotengage.Ifthetractionlever
engages,theinterlocksystemneedsservice.
Correcttheproblembeforeoperatingthe
machine;refertoServicingtheTraction-Interlock
Switch(page33).

leverdoesnotdisengage,theinterlocksystem
needsservice.Correcttheproblembefore
operatingthemachine;refertoServicingthe
Traction-InterlockSwitch(page33)orAdjusting
theReelControl(page36).
6.WiththeOPCpressedandtheshiftlevermoved
tothelefttoengagethetractionandreeldrive,
movetheshiftlevertotherighttodisengagethe
reeldrive(Figure29).Thereeldriveshould
disengage.Ifthereeldrivedoesnotdisengage,
theinterlocksystemneedsservice.Correctthe
problembeforeoperatingthemachine;referto
AdjustingtheReelControl(page36).
7.Carefullylowerthemachineoffthekickstand.

1.Pushthekickstanddownwithyourfootandpull
uponthehandlesupportuntilthekickstandhas
rotatedforward,overcenter.
2.WiththeOPCpressed,thetractionlever
engaged,andtheenginecontrolsinthestarting
position(Figure29),attempttostarttheengine.
Theengineshouldnotstart.Iftheenginestarts,
theinterlockswitchneedsservice.Correctthe
problembeforeoperatingthemachine;referto
ServicingtheTraction-InterlockSwitch(page
33).
3.Carefullylowerthemachineoffthekickstand.

1.Pushthekickstanddownwithyourfootandpull
uponthehandlesupportuntilthekickstandhas
rotatedforward,overcenter.
2.Withthetractionleverdisengaged,theservice
brakeengaged,andtheenginecontrolsin
thestartingposition(Figure29),attemptto
starttheengine.Theengineshouldstart.If
theenginedoesnotstart,theinterlockswitch
needsservice.Correcttheproblembefore
operatingthemachine;refertoServicingthe
Brake-InterlockSwitch(page33).
3.Withtheenginerunning,engagetheservice
brake(nottheparking-brakelatch),pressthe
