Thepurposeofthesafetyinterlocksystemisto
preventtheenginefromcrankingorstartingunlessthe
tractionpedalisinneutralandthePTOswitchisinthe
OFFposition.Inaddition,theengineshouldstopwhen
•thePTOswitchissettotheONpositionandthe
operatorofftheseat;
•thetractionpedalispressedwiththeoperatoroff
theseat;
•thetractionpedalpressedwiththeparkingbrake
engaged.
CAUTION
Ifthesafety-interlockswitchesare
disconnectedordamaged,themachinecould
operateunexpectedly,causingpersonal
injury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
1.MovePTOswitchtoOFFpositionandremove
yourfootfromtractionpedal.
2.RotatethekeyswitchtotheSTARTposition.If
theenginecranks,proceedtostep3.
Note:Ifenginedoesnotcrank,theremaybea
malfunctioninthesafety-interlocksystem.
3.Withtheenginerunning,raiseofftheseatand
setthePTOswitchtotheONposition.The
engineshouldshutoffwithin2seconds.Ifthe
engineshutsoff,proceedtostep4.
Important:Ifenginedoesnotshutoff,
thereisamalfunctioninthesafety-interlock
system.
4.WiththeenginerunningandthePTOswitchset
totheOFFposition,raiseofftheseatandpress
thetractionpedal.Theengineshouldshutoff
within2seconds.Ifengineshutsoff,proceed
tostep5.
Important:Ifenginedoesnotshutoff,
thereisamalfunctioninthesafety-interlock
system.
5.Engagetheparkingbrake.Withtheengine
runningandthePTOswitchsettotheON
position,pressthetractionpedal.Theengine
