1.Shutofftheengineandremovethekeyfromthe
keyswitch.
Note:Donotengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Removetheknobfromtheparking-brakerod
andthescrewsfromthesteering-towercover
(Figure70).

4.Loosenthescrewsandnutsthatsecurethe
parkingbrakeswitchtotheleftsideofthe
steeringtower(Figure70).
5.Alignthepaddleoftheparkingbrakerodwith
theswitchplunger(Figure71).

switchplungeris0.7mm(0.030inches);refer

Note:Thisisthedistancebetweenthe
brake-rodpaddleandtheswitch-plunger
housing.
7.Tightentheswitch-mountingscrewsandnuts.
8.Withtheparkingbrakeengaged,usea
multimetertomeasurecontinuitythroughthe
switch;whenthepositionoftheswitchiscorrect,
youshouldmeasurecontinuitythroughswitch
circuit.
Note:Ifthereisnocontinuity,movetheswitch
downslightlyuntilthereiscontinuity.
9.Checktheoperationoftheparkingbrake
interlockswitchasfollows:
A.Engagetheparkingbrake.
B.Pressthetractionpedalwhiletheengineis
runningandthePTOswitchisintheOFF
position;Theparkingbrakeinterlockswitch
isoperatingcorrectlyiftheengineshutsoff
within2seconds.
Important:Iftheenginedoesnotstop,
theinterlocksystemisnotoperating
correctly.Youmustrepairtheinterlock
systembeforeoperatingthemachine.
10.Installthesteering-towercoverandbrake-rod
knob.
