aroundtheinjectionpump.
OperatingTips
Practicedrivingbeforeoperatingthemachine,
becauseithasahydrostatictransmission
anditscharacteristicsaredifferentthansome
turf-maintenancemachines.
Tomaintainenoughpowerforthemachineand
deckwhilemowing,regulatethetractionpedalto
keeptheenginespeed(rpm)highandconstant.
Decreasethegroundspeedastheloadonthe
cuttingbladesincreases;increasetheground
speedastheloadonthebladesdecreases.This
allowstheengine,workingwiththetransmission,to
sensethepropergroundspeedwhilemaintaining
ahighblade-tipspeednecessaryforgoodquality
ofcut.Therefore,allowthetractionpedaltomove
upwardastheenginespeeddecreases,andpress
pedalslowlyasthespeedincreases.Whendriving
from1workareatoanother(withnoloadandthe
deckraised),havethrottleintheFASTpositionand
pressthetractionpedalslowlybutfullytoattain
themaximumgroundspeed.
Lockthebrakepedalstogetherbeforetransporting
themachine.
Youcanusethebrakestoassistinturningthe
machine;but,usethemcarefullyonsoftor
wetgrassbecausedoingsomaydamagethe
turf.Youcanalsousethebrakestocontrolthe
directionofthedeckwhentrimmingalongfences
orsimilarobjects.Athirdwayyoucanusethe
brakesistomaintaintraction.Forexample;in
someslopeconditions,theuphillwheelslipsand
losestraction.Ifthishappens,presstheuphill
brakepedalgraduallyandintermittentlyuntilthe
uphillwheelstopsslipping,thusincreasingthe
tractiononthedownhillwheel.Ifyoudonotwant
independentbraking,settheleveronleftbrake
pedalwithrightpedal.Thisprovidessimultaneous
brakingatbothwheels.
Beforeshuttingofftheengine,moveallcontrolsto
theNEUTRALpositionandmovethethrottletothe
SLOWposition.RotatethekeyswitchtotheOFF
positiontoshutofftheengine.
Theenginedoesnotrunwhentheenginecoolant
isinovertemperaturecondition.Lettheengine
andcoolingsystemcool,andcheckthecooling
system;refertoCheckingtheCoolingSystemand
CoolantLevel(page57).
