PreparingtheMachine
Ensurethatthemowerdeckislevelanytimeyou
installthemowerdeckorwhenyouseeanuneven
cutonyourlawn.
Levelthemowerdecksidetosidebeforeadjusting
thefront-to-rearslope.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
thePTO,andmovethemotion-controllevers
outwardtothePARKposition.
2.Shutoffthemachine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Unplugthebatterychargerifitisconnected.
4.Turnthebattery-disconnectswitchtotheOFF
position.
5.Checkthetirepressureofbothdrivetires;refer
toCheckingtheTirePressure(page41).
6.Checkthemowerdeckforbentblades;remove
andreplaceanybentblades;refertoServicing
theCuttingBlades(page46).
7.Raisethemowerdecktothetransport-lock
positionorthehighestheight-of-cutsetting.
8.Settheslopeofthemowerdecktothelowest
setting;refertoAdjustingtheSlopeoftheMower
Deck(page29).

1.Positionthebladessidetoside.
2.Measurebetweenthebladetipandtheat
surface.
Note:Ifbothmeasurementsarenotwithin5
mm(3/16inch),anadjustmentisrequired;refer
