Important:Temperaturesoutsideoftheseranges
willdamageyourbatteries.
Thetemperaturethatthebatteriesarestored
atwillaffecttheirlong-termlife.Storagefor
longperiodsoftimeatextremetemperatures
willreducethebatterylife.Fortemperatures
above25°C(77°F),onlystorethemachineforthe
appropriateamountoftimeindicatedinthetable.
Beforeyoustorethemachine,chargeordischarge
thebatteriesbetween40%to60%(54.3Vto
57.3V).
Note:A50%chargeisoptimaltoensurea
maximumbatterylife.Whenthebatteriesare
chargedto100%beforestorage,thebatterylife
shortens.
Ifyouanticipatethatthemachinewillbestored
foralongerperiodoftime,chargethebatteries
toaround60%.
Forevery6monthsofstorage,checkthe
battery-chargelevelandensurethatitisbetween
40%to60%.Ifthechargeisbelow40%,charge
thebatteriesbetween40%to60%.
Youcanuseamultimetertocheckthechargelevel
whenthemachineisoff.Refertothefollowing
tablefortheamountofvoltagethatisequaltothe
chargelevel:

Afterchargingthebatteries,disconnectthe
batterychargerfrompower.Disconnectthe
powerconnectorduringstoragetominimizethe
dischargingofthebatteries.
Ifyouleavethechargeronthemachine,itwill
shutoffafterthebatteriesarefullychargedand
doesnotturnbackonunlessthechargeris
disconnectedandreconnected.
StoringtheCharger
1.Disconnectthepowertothemachine;referto
UsingtheBattery-DisconnectSwitch(page40).
2.Disconnectthepowersupplycordfromthe
chargerandcoilitsecurely.
3.Examinethepowersupplycordthoroughlyfor
signsofwearordamage.Replaceitifitisworn
ordamaged.
4.Examinethechargerthoroughlyforworn,loose,
ordamagedparts.T orepairorreplaceparts,
contactyourauthorizedT orodistributorfor
assistance.
5.Storethechargerwiththepowersupplycordin
aclean,dryplacewhereitwillnotbebumpedor
damagedandnotexposedtocausticfumes.
