Whenperformingroutinemaintenanceand/orengine
diagnostics,shiftthetransaxleintoNEUTRAL.The
machinehasaNEUTRALpositiononthegear-shift
selector,whichcontrolstheneutralinthetransaxle.
Performthefollowingstepstoensurethattheneutral
shiftleveroperatesthetransaxleneutralcorrectly:
1.Setthegear-shiftselectortotheNEUTRAL
position.
2.Rotatethesecondaryclutch(Figure67)toseeif
itspinsfreelyintheNEUTRALposition.
3.Setthegear-shiftselectortotheFORWARD
position.
4.Rotatethesecondaryclutch(Figure67)toseeif
itrotatestherearwheels.
5.Setthegear-shiftselectortotheREVERSE
position.
6.Rotatethesecondaryclutch(Figure67)toseeif
itrotatestherearwheels.
7.Ifanyofthesetestsfail,proceedtoAdjusting
theNeutralGear-ShiftPosition(page52).
