Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,donot
allowthebatteryterminalstotouchanymetal
partsofthemachine.
Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetween
thebatteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthe
machine.
WARNING
Incorrectbatterycableroutingcoulddamagethe
machineandcablescausingsparks.Sparkscan
causethebatterygassestoexplode,resultingin
personalinjury.
AlwaysDisconnectthenegative(black)battery
cablebeforedisconnectingthepositive(red)
cable.
AlwaysReconnectthepositive(red)battery
cablebeforereconnectingthenegative(black)
cable.
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrollevers
totheneutrallockedpositionandsettheparking
brake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Unlatchtheseatandtilttheseatup.
4.Firstdisconnectthenegativebatterycablefromthe
negative(-)batteryterminal(
Figure52).
5.Slidetheredterminalbootoffthepositive(red)
batteryterminal.Thenremovethepositive(red)
batterycable(Figure52).
