3.3. Operation of the slave counter
Generally,theslavecounter'smasterisauniversalcounter. Itoperates
insynchronizationwiththegatesignalandinterruptoftheuniversal
counter.
Theslavecounteralwaysregardsthepreviouschannelasamaster.If
thepreviouschannelisalsoaslave,itcheckstheonebeforethat
channel. Combinationsofmastersandslavesareasfollows:
Masters:Slaves=1:1(x4)to1:7
Thereisnolimitoncombinationsofmasters:slaves.
BasedonthegatecontrolandinterruptofChannel1,alltheother7
channelsarecontrolled.
Theslavecountersdonotperformgatecontrol(command,external
inputgatesignal)ofthemselves. Allofthemfollowgatecontrolofthe
mastercounter,andthecontrolvalueistransferredtotheholdregister
attheinterrupttimingofthemastercounter.Themastercounteris
notaffectedbytheslavecounters.
