PC Attendant Console Hardware Requirements
The Strata CIX Attendant Console runs on a PC with Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista,
or Microsoft Windows 2003 Server operating systems. The Strata CIX Attendant Console PC
requirements include:
• Pentium® 4 running at one GHz or faster
• 1 GB RAM (Windows Vista), 512M RAM (Windows XP)
• 500MB available hard disk space
• NIC interface for 10/100 Base-T
• VGA color monitor (minimum: 1024 x 768 resolution and 65K colors)
• Sound card, microphone and speakers
Note Strata CIX Attendant Console 6 does not support any version of Windows 2000
PC to Strata CIX Hardware Connection
Digital Speech Path
The foolwing procedure is for a digital speech path connection to a Handset Cradle or DKT3x01
telephone. For IP connection refer to
“VoIP Speech Path” on page 1-4.
Hardware to Strata CIX Connection
1. If you are not using a network switch, use an RJ45 cross-pinned cable to connect the Strata
CIX Network Interface Card (NIC) jack and to the CIX Attendant Consoles PC’s NIC jack (see
Figure 1-3).
...or if you’re connecting to the Strata CIX via a LAN or switch, use a straight-pinned RJ45
cable (see
Figure 1-1). Pinouts are shown in Figure 1-2.
2. Use the Amphenol connector to connect the BWDKU or BDKU/BDKS to the Main Distribution
Frame (MDF).
3. Use an RJ11 cable to connect the BWDKU or BDKU/BDKS (from the MDF, if used) to the BATI
or a DKT3x01.
4. Plug in the supplied white cord to the BATI and to the Handset Cradle (BATHC). If a headset
will be used, plug the headset cord into the Handset Cradle’s headset jack.
5. ...or if the DKT3x01 is used (instead of the BATI) and a headset is desired, install a BHEU in
the DKT3x01 per the instructions in the Station Apparatus chapter of the
Strata CIX

. Then plug the headset cord into the BHEU jack.
