4.1 Installation (Installing in the Base Unit)
To install a module, insert it into the base unit along the module guide from the bottom of
the module as shown in figure 4-1. When it is in the base unit, fasten it with the screws
(M4) on top and bottom of the module.
EN7 or FN module mounting slots
• 8-slot base unit: Slot Nos. S0 to S7
• 4-slot base unit: Slot Nos. S0 to S3

Caution
• If the base unit is placed horizontally, either observe the specified working temperature
range or use a cooling fan for forced air cooling of the base unit.
Working temperature range is as follows:
Vertical installation:0 to 55

Horizontal installation: 0 to 40
