Lubrication
.
When
carrying
out
the
following
maintenance
work,
the
imponance
of using
only
high
gride
lubricants
is virally
lmportant
and cannot
be
over
emDhasised
Engine
Experience
has revealed
that
bedding_in
of
engine

nents,
_particularly
the
piston
rings,
is
iniomplete
ai the

of

motoring.
To
facilirate
running_in,
engines
of new
cars
contain
a
special running-in
oil whici'

earlier

The pe

the free
service
has

Cearbox,
Overdrive
and
Rear
Axle
Rear
axles,
gearboxes
and
overdrive
units fitted
to new
cals
are filled
witl
a special
oil,
formulated
to
giye
all
necessary
protectron
to new
gears. This
oil should
trot be
drained
but
may
be
to_pped

wjth
any of the
approved
oits listed
on page
54
and
55 against
the appropriate
unit.
These lubricants
have
maintained
a hish
standard
of
quality
over many
years
and are
reco-nunended
onlv
atler
extensive
tqsts in
collaboration with
the oil
comDanier
coqcerned.
In countries
where these
oils are
unobtainable,
use
similar
high grade
oils having
the samc
characteristics.
Avoid
the use
of cheaper lubricants
which
may
result
in
excessive
wear or prematura
breakdown
and
conseqr.iently
may,
in
time, prove
to be false
economy.
Maintenance
Voucher
Scheme
If for
any
reason
the
owner cannot
undertake
the
work,
he
is recommended
to make full
use of the maintenance
voucher
scheme
developed especially
for the
car. Under
this
scheme,
anv
Triumph
Distributor or Dealer
can
be entrusted
to
carry
oui.
for
a low
fixed charge, the work
listed on
the
vouchers
su'pplied
with the
car. When
all rhe
vouchers
have been
used.
the
bivner
can obtain
a continuation
book from his
dealer.
