Wheel Changing Procedure

Steel Wheels)
l. Firmly
apply the
handbrake
and
chock the wheel diagonally
opposite
the
one being
lifted.
2. Remove
th€ spare wheel from
the luggage
compartment
and
make
sure that
its
tyre
pressure is
correct.
3. Using the special
lever
provided in the tool kit, lever
off the
wheel trim
as shown
in
Fig.
30 and
slightly
loosen
the wheel
nuts, Fig.
31.
4. Place the
jack
in
position
and lift the wheel
clear of the
ground.
Should it
be necessary
to
lift
the vehicle
whilst it is
on sloping ground, exercise
the
greatest care.
5. Completely remove the
wheel nuts,
exchange the road wheels
and
replace
the
nuts.
6. Lower the
jack,
give the wheel nuts
a
final tighten
and refit
the nave plate
by
placing
its edge over
the
whcel
pro.jections
and
giving
the plate
a sharp tap with
the hand to
spring it
into
position.

Occasionally apply
a smear of
grease or
oil
to
the
'
threads
and
inner
i'aces
of the rvhJel nuts.
