Referencing the Gauge
To ensure the accuracy of gauge measurements, Troxler
recommends referencing the gauge each time it is powered
on and periodically while taking measurements.
Referencing the gauge consists of placing the gauge on
material of known density located inside the case. The gauge
then compares the reference check to a prior known value
and uses the result of that comparison to adjust future gauge
readings.
NOTE
A reference standard, built into the carrying case, is
provided. Always reference the gauge using the reference
standard provided with your unit. Each reference standard
is unique; do not interchange gauges and cases.
1. Turn the gauge on as described on page 24. At the
Ready screen, press the REF key. The gauge displays:
2. Place the gauge on the reference standard inside the
carrying case. Ensure that the circular sensor on the
bottom of the gauge is centered between the four
locating pins inside the case, and that the sensor rests flat
against the surface.
3. Press the ENTER/START key to begin referencing. Upon
completion, the gauge displays:
